Received an email from Richard said that we would have a presentation session with Sasha. Since I am not planing to say anything on the presentation day, I was a little confused. I didn't prepare anything the other night, just came straight to the class and a bit worried. We were told to give a one minute pitch. I thought that would gonna be fine at least not 2 minutes. I would usually spend days to prepare my presentation, but one minute would work. I was wondering to practice it as the speech when introducing my project to the public on the festival or to any stakeholders that came across. Then I prepared a short speech while waiting. (picture below). I downloaded a picture of Sasha from Google Image and preparing to pitch him my Iris glasses. I was really nervous and forgot a few important lines. But turns out he thinks my pitch is good and need to develop it to greater level. Maybe I could engage with audience or start asking questions like: you think people care about their privacy? actually they don't.
Was trying to test my intervention today. I was really nervous at the beginning and thanks to Aretha's help I started the testing. The process went much more smoothly later on. There were several people rejected me during the process, it was awkward but fine. If I were them I would try to avoid it as well. There were people offering really valuable insights and ideas. Testing is really a big thing for me (usually I am a very shy person). I am really grateful for who helped me with it. And I felt that it was fun to do something out of my comfort zone. It is a must have skill for a design researcher to talk and interview people. And now I think I have the ability to do that. I am proud of myself being able to step out and ask people to do fever for me. Really learn a lot today.
